🌍 Snapfix Language & Translation FAQ
🌐 What languages does Snapfix support?
Snapfix supports 21 languages: English (default), Armenian, Danish, Dutch, French, German, Greek, Haitian Creole, Hindi, Hungarian, Italian, Lithuanian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, Thai, and Turkish.
This applies to both the app interface and the AI translation of your content (chat messages, task titles, checklists, and more).
You can also type freely in any language in editable fields such as task names, group names, chats, and notes.
Our support desk is available in English and Hindi.
🌐 What is AI Translation?
Snapfix automatically translates operational content into each user's preferred language. When a colleague writes a chat message, task update, or comment in one language, other team members see it in their own language, with no buttons to press and no copying into a separate translator.
Originals are always preserved. Translation is a display layer only, so nothing is overwritten or lost.
🌐 What gets translated?
All user-generated content across Snapfix is translated, including:
Chat messages
Comments
Task updates
Dictation transcripts
Task titles and descriptions
Tags
Checklist items, names, sections, and folders
Photo captions
Location, area, and room names
Group names
Asset names
In-app reports
Chat messages, comments, task updates, and dictation transcripts show a small "Translated" label. Tap it to see the original text, and tap again to return to the translation.
Everything else (task titles, tags, checklists, and so on) translates silently in the background with no indicator.
🌐 What does NOT get translated?
Property or site names and addresses
Exported or generated reports (these use the system default language)
App buttons, menus, and navigation labels (these follow your device language and are handled separately)
🌐 How do I set my language?
Snapfix automatically detects your device language on first launch and sets it as your preferred language.
To change it manually:
Tap your profile icon in the app.
Go to Profile > Settings.
Under Language, tap Other Language.
Select your preferred language and tap Select.
You can also change your language on the web app under Profile settings.
Your choice is saved to your account and applies across all your devices. There is no need to log out or back in.
🌐 How does AI Translation work?
When someone writes content in a language different from yours, Snapfix translates it automatically before you see it. If your preferred language matches the original, you see the original text with no translation indicator.
For chat messages, comments, task updates, and dictation transcripts, you see a "Translated" label. Tap it to view the original text. Everything else (task titles, tags, checklists, and names) translates silently.
If a translation cannot be completed, for example due to a connectivity issue, you see the original text with a retry option. Content is never blocked.
🌐 Can I see the original text?
Yes, for chat messages, comments, task updates, and dictation transcripts. Tap the "Translated" label on any message to see the original. Tap again to switch back.
For other content (task titles, tags, checklists, and names), translation is automatic and there is no toggle in V1.
🌐 Are my original messages changed?
No. Originals are stored exactly as written. Translation is a display layer only. Your original text is always safe and accessible.
🌐 Does translation work the same on iOS, Android, and web?
Yes. AI Translation works consistently across iOS, Android, and the web app.
🌐 What if my device language is not supported?
If your device language is not in the supported list, Snapfix falls back to your account's default language and shows a prompt so you can pick the closest supported language.
🌐 Can I request an additional language?
Yes. Email us at support@snapfix.com and we will add your request to our list for future updates.
🌐 Does translation affect search, filters, or reports?
No. Tags, locations, and other filterable fields always match and report against the original text. Translation only changes what you see on screen.
🌐 Is my data safe?
Yes. Translation data is isolated per account. No content is shared between organisations. Snapfix's translation processing is GDPR-compliant.
